GENERAL OVERVIEW
WHAT: The Golden Spatula Cups are 3-day tournaments where tacticians compete for some spots in the Rising Legends Finals and Qualifier Points. For further information, check the Ruleset here.
WHEN: The GSC #1 will take place on April 26th-28th. On Friday and Saturday, the pre-show will start at 15:30 CEST and the first game at 16:00 CEST. On Sunday, the first game will be at 15:00 CEST.
WHO: 128 players who qualify through the Open Qualifier, Ranked Ladder, and TFT Regional Competitions (TRCs).
WHERE: On the official Teamfight Tactics Twitch channel, YouTube or Lolesports.com.
WHY: For Qualifier Points, 11,500€
in cash prize, and a direct invite to the Rising Legends Finals.
FORMAT EXPLAINER
The Golden Spatula Cups (GSC) are 3-day tournaments where 128 tacticians compete for a spot in the Rising Legends Finals, Qualifier Points and a juicy prize pool.
On Day 1, 128 tacticians will play six rounds with a Swiss System reseed between every two games. After that, the field will be cut in half to 64 players.
For Day 2, they’ll play following the same format. Then, the Top 32 players will make it to day 3.
Last, Day 3 will consist of 3 stages:
- The 32 tacticians will be split into 4 lobbies and play 5 games with Snake Reseed between every 2 games.
- After that, the Top 16 players will be split into 2 lobbies and play 1 more game without a point reset.
- Finally, the Top 8 tacticians will play a last game without a point reset. The player with the most points at the end of Stage 3 will win the tournament.
In terms of prize pool, the winner of the tournament will secure a spot in the Rising Legends Finals. Moreover, the Top 4 tacticians of the tournament will secure a spot in the next Golden Spatula Cup.
Then, all the players who have played in each Golden Spatula Cup will get Qualifier Points.
Once the three Golden Spatula Cups in Inkborn Fables are over, the Top 14 Qualifier Point earners will secure their spot in the Rising Legends Finals.
In addition, each Golden Spatula Cup will have an 11,500€ prize pool for the Top 32 tacticians.
QUALIFICATION SYSTEM
The Golden Spatula Cup #1 will be played by 128 tacticians, who have qualified for the tournament through one of these three paths:
- Open Qualifier #1: This 3-day tournament gives out 32 spots for the GSC #1.
- Ranked Ladder: Once the Sign-ups for the Open Qualifier have closed, this Rank Lock will provide 61 spots in the GSC #1.
- Teamfight Tactics Regional Competitions: Each TRC has its own way to give some of these 35 spots. Don’t forget to check how to qualify through yours!
