Welcome Space Sorcerers!
We're porting over to patch 10.14 where we'll be making some pretty significant changes. Here are the highlights: We're nerfing the Star Guardian trait, but buffing Star Guardian champions themselves. Urgot is getting a "minor" rework, and boxes with Neeko's Help will now also contain gold. Last but not least, TFT turned one year old last week! In celebration, we're giving out special Birthday Pengu emotes to anyone that plays a game of TFT this patch.
Let's get into it!
We like that Jarvan is a strong presence with his team-wide Attack Speed buff and traits that glue together many comps, but we did overbuff him along 1 too many axes. Our goal here is to bring Jarvan back within reason but keep him as a strong 1 cost unit - in particular we're looking to reduce the amount of repeat casts he gets which can lead to a lot of team-wide value and sometimes infinite shielding over the course of fights.
Syndra came out swinging a bit too hard. We're nerfing her total mana to slow down her casting.
It often punishes your economy when you get a Neeko's help from a Blue or Gold box, especially early in the game. So we’re adding gold rewards to those boxes that drop Neeko's.
Your final position in the standings will now be determined once all combat has ended, instead of immediately upon taking lethal damage. Lethal damage will now take players into negative health. Players who are eliminated in the same round will finish in order of:
Star Guardians have too much of its power budget in the trait, so we’re pulling that power out and putting it back into the champions. This should allow some of them to succeed in other comps while maintaining the power of well-built Star Guardian compositions.
Urgot's getting a lot of changes and so....his own little section. From a balance perspective Urot is currently one of the weaker 5-cost champions, however he feels bad to play against and there's not enough incentive for the Urgot player to level him up.
