The North American Teamfight Tactics Esports team has heard the feedback from fans and competitors alike that they want more opportunities to engage with TFT esports in North America. With this in mind, we’re excited to reveal the full details of a new TFT competitive format that gives players more chances to compete, climb, and reach the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals.
In addition to the Giant Slayer TFT NA Qualifier 1 on November 20-22, we’re working with other partners to host 3 additional Qualifier Series events:
Additionally, for those who are not able to compete in the Qualifier Series or don’t have the time to climb the ladder, we will be partnering with Team Liquid to host the Liquid Fates Last Chance Open Qualifier on March 1-5.
These events will culminate in the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals, taking place across two weekends on March 6-7 and 12-13.
Similar to the Giant Slayer TFT NA Qualifier, each other Qualifiers Series event will have multiple options for player qualification:
Each Qualifier event will feature a prize pool of $5,000.
The 4 winners from the previous Qualifier event will automatically move on to the next Qualifier event.
In partnership with The North American Teamfight Tactics Esports team, Wisdom will operate Riot’s official ladder snapshots in NA for Set 4. These will be taken weekly on Wednesdays, starting Nov. 4 at 12:01 AM PT, and will accumulate throughout the set as one method of qualification to each of the Qualifier Events as well as the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals. Ladder snapshots will be available on the Giant Slayer website, so you can keep up to date on the top TFT competitors in NA.
Points will be distributed to the top 100 players according to their placement on the ladder at the time of each snapshot. 10 players from the ladder will qualify for each Qualifier event. Please note that players must play a minimum of 10 games each week to be eligible for that week's points. Additionally, only permanent NA residents and non-Riot employees are eligible for tournament invites based on ladder snapshots.
The next method of qualification for the Qualifier Series is through Wisdom’s weekly Challenger Series events. The Challenger Series will take place on Mondays, with the first two on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 at 5 PM PT. Invites will be sent to the top 8 players from the previous ladder snapshot (disregarding accumulated points and minimum game limits), and the 2 winners of these events will earn an invitation to the Qualifiers series. These events will be broadcast on the Giant Slayer Twitch channel for bonus competitive viewing.
The final method of qualification for Qualifiers 1-3 will be Team Liquid's open qualifier bracket, which will qualify 8 players into each event. Any player can register for the open qualifier brackets, regardless of points. The tournament will be hosted on the Liquid Tactics Discord server at liquidtactics.gg, where registration information can be found. The Open Qualifier for NA Qualifier 4 (run by Riot) will be run similarly but hosted via Riot’s official TFT Discord server.
The TFT Fates NA Regional Finals will have four options for player qualification:
The TFT Fates NA Regional Finals will feature a prize pool of $25,000.
Please note that a player can only qualify for Finals through one of the above categories. If a player qualifies in multiple categories, they will only be counted once and their spot in the remaining categories will go to the player with the next best record in their second form of qualification. The hierarchy of qualification methods starts with Qualifier 4 winners, and proceeds to cumulated points, ladder snapshots, and finally, the Last Chance Open Qualifier.
The Ladder Snapshots for Finals will function the same as throughout the Qualifier events. These will be taken weekly on Wednesdays, and will accumulate throughout the Set. Points will be distributed to the top 100 players according to their placement on the ladder at the time of each snapshot. 12 players from the ladder will qualify for Finals. Please note that players must play a minimum of 10 games each week to be eligible for that week's points. Additionally, only permanent NA residents and non-Riot employees are eligible for tournament invites based on ladder snapshots.
12 players with the most cumulative points from the first four Qualifier events will qualify directly into the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals.
The top 4 players from TFT NA Qualifier 4 on February 26-28 will automatically move on to the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals.
The last day of each Qualifier and both weekends of the TFT Fates NA Regional Finals will be broadcast on twitch.tv/riotgames. Full schedule below:
